Note: Hours of this Course are 1PM-10PM both days due to range availability. Course will include everything you will need to take back and start, equip, teach and design training on the pistol mounted optics. Topics Covered will include: - Implementation of Red Dot Program at Academy & In-service - Teaching strategies & principles for new and seasoned shooters - Consistently finding the dot upon presentation & draw - Tracking the dot through recoil: Awareness vs. Focus - Red Dot Specific Malfunctions - Equipment Selection, Maintenance, Zeroing & Related Considerations - Understanding how to use the Red Dot as a teaching tool for the student - Importance of Dry Fire as a learning & practice tool - Pre & Post shift considerations & responsibilities - Methods to develop/teach skills - Testing of new skills through Drills - Policy Considerations & Qualifications Required Equipment for Course: - Pistol w/ Mounted Optic - Holster, Magazine Pouch, 3 Magazines - Flashlight - Eye & Electronic Ear Protection - 1000 rounds of ammunition ** Limited number of Glock 45 & 17 w/ mounted optics & holster available for rent during the course if needed.
