Service Description

This 5-day Patrol Rifle Instructor course is designed to challenge and improve new & experienced Instructors on a full spectrum look at Patrol Rifle Skills, Application and Teaching Methods. Students will take a deep look at understanding, practicing and best methods to teach hard skills. This course will fall in line with new NYS Firearms Curriculum, methods and best practices. Rifle programs within LE are often overlooked and just added on to the plate of Instructors with little to no training being given. This course will give your program the core that it needs to build out a modern and effective rifle program for Officers. Some of the Other Topics that will be covered - Safety/Med Considerations - Low Light training - Loading/Unloading - Zeroing - Red Dot vs/ LPVO - Stance, Mount, Vision - Ready/Carry Positions - Reloads - Transitions - Malfunctions - Firing Positions - Movement - Shooting on the move - Equipment Selection - Ammo/Ballistics - Program Implementation NOTE: Thursday night of the course will be focused on Low Light and will take place in the afternoon/evening. All other days of the course will begin at 8AM and end at 5PM. Required Equipment: -.223 or 5.56 Rifle w/ 3 Magazines -Sling -Weapon mounted light recommended (not required) -Red Dot or LPVP recommended (not required) -Magazine Pouch for Rifle Mag(s) -Vest (soft or plate carrier) -Duty Belt w/ Handgun & 3 magazines -Eye and Electronic Ear Protection -2000 Rifle Rounds / 200 Handgun Rounds Course Host is Bethlehem Police Department and will take place at their training facility located at: 355 Old Quarry Rd.
