Movement & Pistol Skills for LE

Service Description

This 2-day course will cover Pistol principles needed by the modern LE Officer as we explore speed & accuracy through a student-centered approach. Pistol skills will then be applied to movement types commonly seen and needed in Law Enforcement use of force. Limited Class size, 2 Instructors and lots of reps that will focus on Movement mechanics, principles and applications will be explored through exercises and drills. In modern sports performance movement is trained in the categories of Change in Direction & Reactive Agility. Students will use a variety of change of direction movements including lateral movement, shooting while moving, vision barriers, and movement around cover to solidify their foundation. Later in the course students will include the use of agility style or open format movement, which most closely replicates movement needed in Law Enforcement. All levels of experience, as well as Law Enforcement Instructors, will benefit from the skills, drills, practice and principles that they will take away from the course. Students will leave with an understanding of movement through self-exploration, coaching and guidance that will help guide them in their own training. Attending students must be able to show safe gun handling skills at all times and should use footwear that allow for good traction and mobility, as there will be dynamic movement involved in some of the exercises. Students must be active Police or Peace Officers to attend this specific course due to host requirements. Although not required, a great pre-requisite to this course is the Pistol Optics Instructor course which places a large emphasis on properly learning the foundational pistol skills. A pistol with a red dot is Not required for this movement course.
