M4 / AR15/16 2-Day Armorer Course

Service Description

This 2-day hands on course is not brand specific and will cover all makes of M4 / AR15/ AR16 / AR10 weapon systems. Attendees will be certified in the care & maintenance of these systems which will allow them to disassemble, inspect, identify/replace or repair broken or worn parts and reassemble/function check. Maintenance schedules, cleaning and suppressors will also be covered. Students will get a lot of hands-on time breaking down, inspecting, learning how to replace parts, reassembling & function testing the platform. This course will be led by Tim Jones, a highly experienced armorer and gunsmith with over 2 decades of experience. Tim is also a certified and active Police Officer with experience running maintenance and oversight on department Patrol Rifle programs. Other topics covered: • Police Patrol Rifle Program Maintenance, Considerations & Best Practices • Brief history of platform • Nomenclature • Operation of the rifle (direct impingement and piston driven) • Functions check • Gas Operation • Cycle of operation • Difference in parts from semi auto to automatic • Complete disassembly and reassembly of lower receiver • Complete disassembly and reassembly of upper receiver • Barrel swaps • Trouble shooting methods • Suppressors • Common Upgrades • Cleaning and lubrication (Basic & Armorer • Maintenance Schedule All armorers’ tools will be provided for this class; however students must supply their own rifle – a suppressor is not necessary. If this is not possible, please reach out prior to registering to verify if a loaner rifle is available for the course. Certification will include 16 hours of training and students must show proficiency in disassembly, assembly and an understanding of the operating system. Certification will be good for 5 years from the date of the course. There is NO live fire in this course. Prerequisites: NONE – however, students should have a basic knowledge of the AR15/M16 platform. This course is limited to active Law Enforcement Officers only. Upon registering for this class students will be asked to provide the following regarding the platform they will be using in the course. 1. Rifle brand and caliber 2.
